Welcome CSS employers
We have exciting news to share!
We’ll be launching a new pension administration system and refreshed myCSSPEN employer and member portals in early 2027.
These enhancements have been designed to:
- Support a more streamlined administration process.
- Improve data accuracy.
- Provide an efficient experience for all users.
- Support regulatory compliance.
All of us at CSS are committed to keeping you informed and supported as we move towards launching our new system.
We need your help to ensure a smooth transition
You’re the cornerstone of our success at CSS because your organization believes in providing valued employees with retirement security. This core belief is behind our purpose of serving over 58,000 CSS members.
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to serving you. Our new system will improve the tools, processes, and support we’re committed to providing all Canadian employers and their employees.
To ensure the transition to our new system is a smooth and positive one for you and your organization, we’re making you aware of this change several months before our expected launch.
We appreciate your co-operation and support as we move towards launching our new system in 2027!

You’re not alone. Take time to review our list of Frequently Asked Questions first. We’ll update these FAQs as we have more details to share over the coming months.
To better serve you, our employers, and our Plan members by designing a system to:
- Support a more streamlined administration process.
- Improve data accuracy.
- Provide an efficient experience for all users.
- Support regulatory compliance.
We’re approaching this initiative in three phases:
Phase 1: pre-launch phase (September to December 2026)
Phase 2: expected launch (January 2027)
Phase 3: post-launch phase (February to December 2027)
Overall, this should not be a significant change for your organization. However, there will be changes for the person or persons who oversee contribution remittances for the CSS Pension Plan.
The updated portal will also provide you with the option to complete other administrative processes conveniently and securely online, including:
- Enrolling new members in the Plan.
- Completing missed contribution or employment status changes.
- Terminating employee membership in the Plan.
If your organization submits contribution files, you will need to update your internal payroll or reporting processes. This is to ensure compatibility with the new submission requirements.
Key changes will include:
- A new standardized Excel contribution remittance template.
- More employee information on contribution submissions.
- New formatting and coding requirements for contribution data.
On September 2, 2026, we sent an initial letter and email to every primary employer contact with the CSS Pension Plan. This was done to ensure all CSS employers are aware of our plan to move to a new pension administration system in 2027.
In this pre-launch phase, we will continue to send regular updates by email.
Here’s what we'll be providing to you over the coming months:
-
Details on changes to the contribution remittance process.
-
A new remittance file template.
-
File specifications and instructions.
-
Informative how-to resources.
-
Details on next steps as we prepare for the transition.
To ensure the transition is a smooth and positive one for you and your organization, we’re making you aware of this change several months before our expected launch.
You can email any questions about this initiative to CSS Employer Services.
