E-Update for employers
As an employment pension plan, the CSS Pension Plan works closely with our employer members to administer Plan benefits to participating employees.
To help your organization stay current on the latest Plan news, programs and services, as well as changes to the pension landscape, we've developed the E-Update - an e-newsletter for employers.
To subscribe to the E-Update, email communications@csspension.com with "Subscribe to CSS E-Update" in the subject line.

Mail to and from the CSS Pension Plan will be delayed due to Canada Post service disruptions. Regular mail services resume on Dec. 17, 2024 (however, delays are expected).
If you are sending a remittance cheque
The CSS Pension Plan encourages employers to forward contribution funds to the Plan in the form of an electronic funds transfer (EFT). EFT is a convenient and cost effective way to submit your contribution funds.
For more information on submitting payments by EFT or if you require assistance, please contact Employer Services.
Due to legislative requirements, the payment of these funds to CSS cannot be delayed. If you do not have the option to send an electronic payment, you must courier your remittance cheque to:

If you have other questions, please contact us.
The 2024 CRA maximum contribution limit for employee members of defined contribution pension plans is the LESSER of:
- 18% of the employee's compensation for the year, or
- $32,490 (the CRA money purchase limit)
We are very excited to continue offering members online access to annual statements through myCSSPEN for members.
Pension and electronic documents legislation dictates that we must also provide paper annual statements to our members unless they have explicitly indicated to us that they only wish to receive their statements in electronic form. Members are able to set their statement delivery preference in myCSSPEN by selecting Account Menu > Communications Preferences.
Paper statements will continue to be provided to employers to distribute to active contributing members, unless your organization has requested CSS handle the distribution of paper statements directly to your employees.
The new member kit is available in digital format on our website. We send this link to all of our new members in their welcome letter. Please encourage new employees from your organization to review the new member kit.
